Summit Food
Service Distributors is one of the largest and most technologically
advanced, Canadian-owned broadline distributors to the Ontario
foodservice industry. In the last several years Summit has strategically
advanced all facets of our organization.
Summit originated as an independent distributor based in London,
Ontario. By building a reputation for superior customer service
and innovative value-added initiatives, Summit has achieved
consistent double digit growth over the last decade. Customer
surveys, formal business reviews and direct customer feedback
are used to evaluate our performance and to identify any opportunities
for improvement.
In September 1996, Summit acquired and merged operations with
Ottawa-based Magnafoods. We initiated a major capital investment
campaign to further upgrade the warehouse and fleet. These upgrades
have further improved customer service. This acquisition also
significantly extended our geographic coverage. We have over
70 delivery vehicles in the Summit fleet, we deliver seven days
per week throughout southern, central and eastern Ontario as
well as western Quebec.
Summit has expanded in the Greater Toronto Area. Our new Distribution
Centre commenced operations in December 2000. This is an exciting
new venture as it puts Summit in a prime position to better
serve Toronto and area customers.
London has been and will remain the head office. The London
office provides corporate support to all branches including;
financial administration, information technology, marketing,
purchasing and senior management.
Delivering Value to our customers is the cornerstone of Summit's
operating philosophy for all departments and teammates. By empowering
our front line personnel and conducting monthly cross-functional
team meetings, we continuously improve our processes and ensure
we are "Delivering Value" to our business partners. |
