Summit's consistent investment in the latest and most technologically advanced equipment and fleet protects the integrity of our customers products and allows us to continue to reduce our cost of operations; both are important benefits for our business partners today and in the future.

The investment in our fleet for both replacement and maintenance ensures your product arrives in peak condition. Our total fleet includes over seventy modern tractor-trailers, and visual inspection will confirm our fleet is one of the most modern, reliable and cost effective in the industry. Importantly all of our tractors are leased with full maintenance contracts. All of our trailers are well maintained and owned by Summit.

Temperature Controlled Vehicles
All of Summit's delivery vehicles have multi-temperature controlled compartments with the exception of one backup trailer at each location. Summit was one of the first distributors in Canada to invest in trailers with three separate and flexible temperature controlled compartments for frozen, refrigerated and dry goods. All drivers are Summit teammates and we believe they are one of the key elements of our total customer service package. We use on-board computers to further improve efficiencies and protect product integrity by monitoring temperatures in the three compartments.

Delivery Routing System
We successfully utilize Roadnet a computer software system to ensure our delivery routes are designed to optimize customers' preferred delivery times.

Roadnet is a software package that is designed to specifically aid in the routing of trucks. It enables the operator to route the most efficient path from customer to customer based on times, weights and cubes. It also provides maps of routes down to the street level. We have onboard computers in trucks that record information from the engine such as revving, mileage and speed. It is the integration of this data along with information from Roadnet that will help Summit in continuing to improve our processes and eliminate unnecessary costs.

Communications with Driver's on the Road
Our Distribution Manager and Customer Service personnel have access to each driver's schedule and can track them down when necessary. We are currently investigating new onboard computers that utilize trans-terrestrial networks. They include touch screens for the drivers and also low-cost communication and tracking capabilities.
